Who is your favorite classical guitarist?

My vote goes definetely to John Williams. He's absolute master among masters.
Wish also mention of Swedish classical guitarist Per-Olov Kindgren.

Don't know many classical guitarists, but know Barrueco from his DVD "Gift and a Life" and recordings with my favourite Al Di Meola

I voted for Andres Segovia and Julian Bream. There are many classical guitarists who have great technique but very few that play with the mellowness, warmth and intimacy of these two.

I wish William Kanengiser was listed. I saw David Russell in concert a couple of months ago. He really blew me away.

I would have to say Julian Bream of the listed. Lately, I have been spending a lot of time comparing guitarists. Listening to the same piece by all different artists. Again, I would have to give it to Bream. For instance, listen to a few of these play Capricho Arabe by Tarrega. Then listen to Bream play it. (IMO)

For me, between many others, the best is David Russell. In my opinion his musicality is absolutely beyond others.
From many great recordings of him I recomend especially an old one "Haendel, Bach, Scarlatti - Baroque Music". Passacaille from Heandel`s Suite is something I still can`t believe it can be played on classical guitar. Really unbelievable!
